In the Russian marine market, Wärtsilä is a strong player in ship propulsion equipment and diesel-electric power solutions. Wärtsilä’s main shipyard customers are located in St Petersburg, Vyborg, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad. In the energy market, Wärtsilä delivers power plants for distributed power generation market to industrial companies, remote regions, municipalities, and to utility companies. Wärtsilä has sold to Russia more than 70 power plants with a combined generating capacity of approximately 1200 MW. In the Services business, Wärtsilä provides life-cycle support for its Power Plants and Ship Power customers.
Wärtsilä in Russia opened its first office in Moscow in 1981. Today, the company has offices in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vladivostok, a service centre in Murmansk employing altogether 123 people. In 2015, Wärtsilä’s net sales to Russia were EUR 99 million.
