Wärtsilä’s Marine Business in Russia offers ship design, new equipment and packaged solutions for all segments of marine market. Transas is actively involved in delivery of modern integrated navigation systems and equipment for safe operations of ports, in designing and manufacturing of simulators for professional training. In the energy market, Wärtsilä delivers power plants for distributed power generation market to industrial companies, remote municipalities, and to utility companies. Altogether Wärtsilä has delivered to the Russian market more than 60 power plants with total output of approximately 1100 MW.

Wärtsilä opened its first office in Moscow in 1981. Currently it is being represented in Russia by Wartsila Vostok LLC, established in 2006 with the head office in St. Petersburg, branch offices in Moscow, Vladivostok and Murmansk, and by Transas LLC., acquired by Wartsila in 2018 with the head office in St.Petersburg and branches in Moscow, Murmansk, N.Novgorod and Astrakhan. The total number of employees in Russia exceeds 700 specialists. Altogether, Wärtsilä services power plants, marine and O&G businesses with responsibility for more than 3000 MW land based and marine applications in Russia.
